ASEDC is registered as an NGO in Rwanda. Tax deductibility for international donors depends on your country's rules. In the U.S., direct donations to ASEDC are generally not tax-deductible because ASEDC is not a 501(c)(3); for tax-deductible giving, use a fiscal sponsor or platform like GlobalGiving once we are listed. We're working toward that listing.
Your gift funds program costs — school materials, training tool kits, health outreach, saving-group start-up capital — plus a modest share for the administration needed to run programs well and report on them. Because ASEDC is Rwandan-run, with local staff and local costs, your money stretches further than it would through an organization with an international head office.
